Once you’re ready to lock in your session, you’ll choose your date and pay the session fee. We’re a small, passionate team of women based in the Waikato, each here to help you feel seen, safe, and completely celebrated.
Each of us plays a different role, but our mission is shared: to create a space where you can show up fully, unapologetically, and maybe even surprise yourself. You don’t have to feel confident to walk in. That’s what we’re here for.
Ruth is the founder of Gilmour Studios and created Intimates by Gilmour Studios after seeing just how powerful and necessary this kind of experience is. She leads the team with a fierce belief in women’s worth and a gentle hand on every part of the client journey.

Kim is our lead photographer. She brings calm confidence, creativity, and warmth to every session — helping you relax, laugh, and ease into the most magnetic version of yourself. Building relationships is at the core of her work. Kim takes time to get to know each client, understand how they want to be seen, and gently ease their nerves. You can wear whatever makes you feel confident. Lingerie, robes, shirts, dresses, knits, even nothing at all. This is about your comfort, your body, your pace. Your shoot includes up to 3 outfit changes, so if you’re not sure, bring a mix and we’ll collaborate on what works best.
Our vibe leans toward that "effortless cool girl" energy, think lingerie, bodysuits, oversized sweaters, a favourite robe, cropped tees with high waist knickers, or soft layers you already have in your wardrobe. Some clients choose lingerie, others prefer something relaxed. A nude set is always an option too (yes, that counts as an outfit!). We’ve even shot entire sessions using just bedsheets and light.

Yes, yes, yes. Our specialty is photographing women at every level of dress (or undress). If lingerie or implied nudity isn’t your thing, that’s totally fine. You might feel more at ease in jeans and an off-shoulder blouse, or a favourite dress. That falls beautifully into our beauty portraiture style — confident, feminine, and fully you. You don’t need to bare skin to show up boldly.

Our sessions are held in our custom-built studio located in London Street in the Hamilton CBD. The space is designed with comfort and confidence in mind, filled with beautiful natural light, curated sets, soft textures, statement furniture, and calming energy. It’s private, welcoming, and intentionally styled for intimate portraits that feel like you. The studio operates by appointment only, and full address details are provided upon booking.
We also love exploring new locations. If you have a unique space or idea in mind, let us know, we’re open to off-site sessions when scheduling allows (travel fees may apply).
